Zero to 60 review

“…a fast moving account of Tony Quinn’s life to date… a real ‘rags to riches’ tale.”

Robert is a true kiwi bloke, and dad to Laura (24). A marine engineer by trade, he loves tinkering in his workshop, sailing, and cracking a cold one at the end of the day. Robert has a huge passion for, and knowledge of cars and all things motorsport, which is why he chose to review motorsport legend Tony Quinn’s new biography, Zero to 60.

Book Review - Zero to 60 by tony quinn

Zero to 60 is a fast moving account of Tony Quinn’s life to date, and is a real ‘rags to riches’ tale. I was aware of Tony Quinn’s name through my own interest in motorsport in New Zealand, but until now I knew nothing of his background.

Without a doubt, he is a self-made man who has come from very humble beginnings to become a very successful business man. His determination to succeed in life, possibly to the detriment of those around him, is a very clear thread throughout the book.

His single-mindedness (the word ruthless springs to mind here) has made him a very wealthy man and allowed him more recently to indulge his passion for motorsport, which has certainly benefitted all involved in the sport in New Zealand.

No one could dispute that Tony Quinn has, by his standards at least, made a success of his life. Zero to 60 is an easy, and in parts, amusing, read which is well laid out and gives an insight into a life that has seen both hard and good times.
